Boats and Bartering

Guide to getting better boats

Before I talk about the step by step guide, I need to first introduce you to barter materials, as you WILL NOT be able to get a Carrack w/o bartering.

Introduction to Barter mat(s).

To talk about barter I'll first have to introduce you to the 'Tiers and materials" in barter

Tier 1 materials

Tier 2 materials

Tier 3 materials

Tier 4 materials

Tier 5 materials

tiers color determines the worth/rarity, now that you've been introduced to the tiers, I'll now tell you how to barter.

to barter you simply follow these steps.

Step 1

Get a boat (either from quest or from an npc at velia)

Register that boat at nearby wharf manager (note that the first letter has to be capital) and click the Take out button once you are done

Step 2

Determine what you want to get via the barter menu in the escape menu

Step 3

Now get on your boat and load the items you need.

Step 4

now click on the arrow button next to the island name and the game will generate a path to that island (Does not work for barter locations out at Magoria)

now head to the island.

Step 5

once you reach near the island, the Anchor button will pop up, click on it and then click on the barter button and click on the exchange once (if your boat cannot support the weight of the full barter, else if not click barter all)

CONGRATULATIONS YOU COMPLETED YOUR 1ST BARTER

now, you'll need to keep bartering to get items you want/ need for your goal : Carrack.

so start small, make your first aim this

as the more barter you complete, the more routes will be opened up for you and more routes = rng increase for mats you need.

now, back to my tips, take a good look at this

the boat you upgrade to 2nd phase determines the final product, each carrack has different stats, with advanced being a heavy lifter, volante the fastest boat and valour the fastest cannon cd (high dps) and balanced being the shittiest carrack as like it's name suggest, it doesn't excel at anything.

now depending on which path you take, the number of upgrade mats WILL DIFFER

so pick wisely.

Now to know what are the mats you will need simply check your boat in and click on Upgrade ship and it will show you the mats needed for each path. (note that boats will only show the mats required for the nxt upgrade that's immediately available and not the future paths)

to note : you will NEED TO UN-EQUIP YOUR BOAT GEAR TO ENHANCE AND UPGRADE, as such once you upgrade to the boat the gear you used to upgrade the boat will be consumed together with the materials.

Things you should prepare :

Five thousand (yes 5000.) of all of this items :

Prepare a TOTAL of 120 of any of tier 1 mats (doesn't have to be 1 type of material, as long as it adds up to 120 total)

reminder of what T1 mats look like

now take the items to this npc which can be found almost ever major town's port/wharf

talk to her, and press Exchange(E) and exchange ALL your 120 mats for scrolls

once you have the scrolls, head over to Crow's nest to exchange them for verdant stones.

-TO NOTE-

PLEASE COMPLETE YOUR VIGOUROUS VELIA QUESTLINE UNDER BLACKSPIRIT SUGGESTED TAB BEFORE HEADING TO CROW'S NEST AS THERE WILL BE A QUEST THAT YOU WILL WANT TO PICK UP THAT'LL SPAN OVER 7-DAYS (AS THERE ARE 7 QUESTS BUT YOU CAN ONLY DO THE QUEST ONCE A DAY, AND NO THE QUEST DOES NOT RESET SO YOU'LL BE STUCK AT WHEREVER YOU LEFT OF THE DAY BEFORE AND THE QUEST IS FAMILY BOUND SO YOU CAN ONLY DO IT ONCE)

-TO NOTE-

You will really want to complete the 7-day quest at crow's nest as it gives you half.. yes 50% of the materials you will need in order to get your first caravel/galleas and the last quest at crow's nest will give you  a nifty 1000 crow coins.

So you might ask, OMG 50% of the MATS?? Hit me the fuck up kazu!! where the fuck can I find the npc and what's the quest name??!

The quest name is called Ravinia's Log I, Ravinia's Log II , Ravinia's Log III, Ravinia's Log IV.... you get the idea and it has a unknown pre-requisit of either havin a skilled 1 sailor/ having completed vigorous velia quest as such I highly reccomend to do the quest, complete it and it will give you enough sailing xp to be skilled 1 or skilled 2 at the end of the quest line.

The npc is located at Crow's nest

now go there, exchange the 120 scrolls you got earlier for 120 verdant stones

once all that is done, make sure attend your guild's khan as much as possible for free mats and crow coins, join your guildies or friends for Oquilla Eye dailies as well to get the mats for carrack and caravel/galleas

(hit me up on discord sKazu#2435 if you cant find a pt to carry your Oquilla Eye dailies)

aaand you're all set, as this is as much as I can tell you.

I may have forgotten to include some information as this topic is steep and intertwines with other topics like sailors/ enif you have any more questions with regards to this topic, feel free to ask me.
